Estes Fun

It certainly felt like Christmas morning again! We felt very spoiled by my very thoughtful mother and father in law! I know Matt enjoyed his mom's traditional pastry wreath which I was not making with the move this year!

We sure love Mom and Dad Smith. Any time we can spend with them is treasured!

Aunt Katie (Matt's sister) made these knitted slippers. Isn't she talented? She did such nice, even work. She also gave us a 10 in 1 game set that we have very much enjoyed. My favorite gifts that she gave us were glass pans with "Smith" etched on the bottom. I have always wanted some. Now I can bring a dish to an activity and know it will never be mistaken as someone else's.

Sheri loved her new butterfly pillow!

So cute!

Eve's new fairy. Its wings flutter and you connect it to you by an almost invisible string. It looks like it is flying by itself! Eve loves fairies!

Game time. Jenga.

The collapse.

Then we spent some time sledding. It was windy and cold but very worth it for the ride. We warmed right up walking up the hill.

Does it get any more beautiful or wonderful?

Christmas 2011

Christmas was great this year! We enjoyed going to church in the morning.

Then we came home and began our Christmas activities by hearing my mom's new hymn text about Samuel the Lamanite.

Then time for presents.

Eve's present to me.

Uncle Adam, handsome, happy.

Uncle Ivan knows how to give good gifts!

Grandma playing with Sheri.

Eve got her wish for matching clothes for her and her doll.

My new favorite game that I gave to both my dad and my husband.

This is the apron/shirt saver that I made for my mother. Yellow is my favorite color. I was happy they turned out well since I am a basic sewer.

Catherine and Aaron were able to join us before we finished. Cute!

Sterling's Skywalker costume.

Then we enjoyed time with the family before Christmas dinner.

Christmas is so fun with family! I especially enjoyed playing Blokus with my family!

In the evening, we went to Matt's uncle's house to visit with all the Sabeys. It was great to catch up with everyone, but I missed those who weren't able to make it. At the end of the evening, we went up to Estes for more fun on Monday.

Home for the Holidays

We arrived in Omaha early on the morning of Friday, the 16th, with just a few hours of rest time before our 9AM closing on our new home. Closing went successfully and then we checked out our new home before leaving the carpet cleaners to do their job. We camped in our new home from Saturday night through Sunday. Monday the movers arrived with our belongings and I registered the kids for school. The next week was filled with unpacking, arranging, trying out a day or two of school, and more unpacking. Friday night (Dec 23rd) we headed to Colorado for the rest of the holiday season.

Saturday morning we simply enjoyed the Murrays and the snow.

Playing in the back yard.

We also enjoyed seeing my brother Adam.
