Christmas in Colorado

We are happy that during this holiday season we could travel to be with family. With it only being 8 hours away, we felt like we should capitalize on our opportunity. This has been one of the happiest visits that I can remember. I really relished being with family as well as the relaxation and fun!

Here are some highlights:

Gingerbread decorating with my family at Jen's house.

Up close and personal.

Ivan arrives!

Our little chaps.

"Let me fix your collar for you buddy."

The newly weds.

The grandsons.

Sweet Emma.

More December Fun!

December continued to be a fun month. We invited friends over to decorate Graham cracker houses.

Eve had her second piano recital and did beautifully.

Christian continues to become more interactive.

We went to the Mormon Trail Center and enjoyed the gingerbread festival again this year. Sheri got to show us the one she made at preschool that was displayed.

One not-so-fun event was a snow storm that took out some power lines near our house on December 20th. We didn't have power from 1 AM to 5 PM. We were able to bundle up and stay warm inside for the day. We were lucky to have a gas fireplace. Being without electricity increased the kids' appreciation for it. The kids agreed that we really are blessed to live with electricity (most of the time.) Finding things to do on a snow day with out power made them think a bit more. They had a great time with a large cardboard box and blankets making a fort. We were so relieved when the power came back on! I won't tell about my attempt to venture out of the neighborhood because getting stuck and pushed out more than 6 times is just embarrasing!
