June 2020

The month of June was full of beauty and fun.  In this post I will write about the month, but save our family vacation for my next post.

This photo was taken June 1st.  I love to catch sweetness when I see it!

On Sterling's birthday he was able to have 3 friends over for swimming, games, dinner, and cake.  We love Sterling and his fun, humorous, and social personality.

With more free time the kids got crafty.  Here the girls had a great time creating kitten toys.

The yard continues to change and bring new beauties.

This is a passion fruit flower from our plant that has grown quite well in the last year.

During the second week of June the girls were able to participate in Young Women's Camp.  All of the activities were over Zoom, but the stake and youth leaders did such a great job of providing crafts, camp activities, devotionals, and even t-shirts.  They made s'mores, created sidewalk chalk art, sketched, did string art, went on personal walks/hikes, sang songs, etc.   I was a leader over the 2nd year girls and Eve was a Youth Camp leader which allowed her to make Sheri's first year fun.  Eve was able to teach a barre class as one of the extra physical activity classes.  Also, during this week the girls tended Sister Hamilton's new kitty while they traveled.  It was a fun week.

As our trees continued to produce fruit we made crisp, jam, and pies.

This is the beginning of our fig crop.

We also enjoyed local fruit.

And near the end of the month we started picking tomatoes from the garden.

We were able to head up to Pine Crest for a walk around the lake one weekend.  We were glad the state was starting to open up outside public areas.  It was lovely and we'd like to go back to spend a bit more time exploring the area.

Around the 15th we prepared for our trip to visit family and friends.  I will conclude this post with an image that Matt took at work.  I love this shot with the moon at sunset.  We are also grateful that Matt has been successful at work and has helped his company to thrive.  He is enjoying his work and enjoys helping to develop his leadership team and the plant as a whole.

June was a beautiful month and a great time to enjoy some of our greatest blessings- family, nature, God and all he has provided for us.
