April 2023

Happy spring!

April 1st was Prom for Sterling and Harleigh!  They had a wonderful time!

The prom theme was Night in Vegas.

It was also General Conference weekend.  We painted wooden eggs and an Easter decoration to send to Eve for her Easter basket care package.

Track continues this month.  It has been fun to attend the meets!
I will post some videos at the end of this post.

April 5th was Eve's Birthday.  I'm so glad she had her roommates to celebrate with!

Easter weekend we dyed eggs and made a bunny cake with friends.

Eve enjoyed the springy weather on Easter!

We had our traditional Easter egg hunt here at home.

Sheri found the large golden egg with money in it. :)

Matt and I have been working hard to get our gardens ready for planting!.

April 21st was the Amarillo United Way Day of Caring.  My Just Serve working group was able to help with the Habitat For Humanity project.  We helped put a second coat of paint on the house they are currently building.

Later that day I drove to Colorado on my way to pick up Eve from BYU.  It was so nice to spend time with the Murray family!

I drove to BYU to pick up Eve on Monday, April 24th and helped her load boxes and prepare for her cleaning check.  I also got to have dinner with Debbie Lee, a friend from Ohio that now lives in Utah.

It was definitely a little sad to see this era end (freshmen year in dorms with cousin roommates).  Next fall Eve will live off campus with Sabey, but Camille will be going on a mission.  I know they have so many great memories from this year!
We finished loading the next day and headed back to Colorado (after dropping a few items at Ivan's for storing).  What a nice uncle!

It was so great to be home again with all of us under one roof... at least until Eve leaves on her study abroad on the 30th.

Thursday, April 27th was Sheri's band concert.  She was recognized for playing in All Region Band and for playing in UIL (University Scholastic League) Solo & Ensemble.  This year she was able to make second chair flute which is awesome, especially for a Freshman!

As for the rest of the month, we don't have photos but we were coaching soccer practices and games.  I am grateful that Matt and the kids could coach when I was not available.

One final thing, Sterling has been working with a company that teaches acting and also photographs  for companies looking to advertise their services.  Sterling participated in a photo shoot for the company.  Kind of fun! Here is one of the shots.

Here are some track videos from the month.  I am very proud of how hard Sterling and Sheri worked!  They both improved significantly!

Here are a few more videos just for fun!

Well, it has been a BUSY month!  We have lots of good things going on and much to be grateful for!
Most of all, we are grateful for our Savior, that He was willing to give everything to show us the way and bring us home.  We know that we are so blessed by all His gospel and church brings into our lives!  We feel God's love for us and are tremendously blessed!
