Happy Thanksgiving! Sterling's turkey says what he is thankful for: School, Family, America, Friends, and crishchin (Christian)
This year for Thanksgiving we went up to Michigan to visit Matt's sister Kelly and her family. Matt's brother, Michael and his family also made the trek up from Kentucky. It took us about 12 hours to drive there. We drove through the night and so the trip was relatively painless. I say that because Matt did most of the driving since he doesn't get so sleepy. I have to give thanks to him for driving most of the way to and from Kelly's house. I was able to pump and feed the baby bottles and so we didn't need to stop much, except to gas up.
We did struggle with a stomach bug. Sheri got it the Monday before Thanksgiving through Tuesday night (before Thanksgiving). I got it the day after Thanksgiving but never threw up. Eve seems to be feeling it this week but has mostly been able to carry on as normal. I wonder if Christian was also sick last Monday because he was very fussy and unhappy while I tried to prep for the trip. We all seem to be better now. I just hope everyone else has avoided it. We felt unsure about going to see family because we didn't want to spread anything. However, both families said they would rather that we come even if there was the risk of germ sharing. I hope they still love us even if it does spread. :)
Here are some pics of the weekend.
I am thankful for . . .
Our first Thanksgiving with Christian,
For sharing the cooking load with family,
For fun cousins for my kids to play with,
For my wonderful husband (of course),
That Sterling could play football with the big boys,
For kind kids,
For this cute outfit on Christian from my sister Jennifer,
For Chritian's first smiles,
For these sweet princesses who made cards and shows for us,
For dancing,
Boy cousins just Ster's age,
For the feast, with family,
For so many kinds of pie,
For Mike and family making the trip,
For Kelly and Marcelino's generous hospitality,
For game time,
For all those who helped hold Christian throughout the weekend, and Noah here from Africa,
For great examples to my kids,
And finally, to be back in our own bed (much better than sleeping in the car!)
*Note: This pic was taken before Thanksgiving but was so appropriate here.
