July 2016

For the first part of July we spent the weekend in Estes Park with Matt's parents and Katie's family.  We had a great time playing games, riding go carts and bumper boats, and enjoying family time.

On Monday, July 4th we attended a special breakfast with the Estes Branch.  Bart gave some wonderful remarks about freedom.  Then we headed down to Fort Collins to spend the day with Matt's grandparents (Burns and Elaine Sabey).  He has many fond memories of 4th of July at their home on the lake.  He wanted to be sure that our kids have those wonderful memories as well.  There were paddle boats, sail boats, a slip and side, other games and a backyard BBQ.  The kids had a grand time swimming.

We were happy to also be able to see Uncle Jim, Uncle Mel and Aunt Sandy, Uncle Mark and Aunt Lisa, Cousin Christian & family, Cousin Pete & family, and Brian & family.  We felt that it was a such a wonderful opportunity to see all these great family members.

We are so grateful for the legacy of faithfulness and love that Matt's parents and grandparents are leaving for their posterity!

We drove Matt to the airport that afternoon and spent the rest of the evening with my family.

It is always sad to leave our Colorado family.  But we were definitely ready to get back home.

We stopped in Omaha and had a wonderful time visiting friends.

We are so grateful for the Snows who offered their home to us.  They are a wonderful example of a faithful family who are doing their best to live as the Savior has taught.

We also had to get new Freon and a new air filter since a mouse had nested and died in our old one.
We had a nice cool ride home but ended up needing a new compressor about a week after we got home. :(

We also stopped in Illinois to see the Owens and Eddingtons.  They are such loyal friends to us!  We really enjoyed Raging Rivers with them!

Thanks to Kristen for these last 3 shots.  She is such a true friend to me in so many ways!

We were so happy to be home the kids could kiss a frog!  Christian was just happy to be out of his car seat!  Note: the truck was not moving! :)

The rest of July was filled with lots of fun activities, along with lots of dance lessons.

Eve got to go to Young Women's camp for the first time.  She had a blast and really grew closer to the girls.  She had lots of spiritual highlights and lots of fun experiences.  She also bruised her heel jumping into a pool. :(  Oh well, it healed after a few weeks.

Sterling also got to go to Cub Scout day camp.  The camp was not well run, but he still enjoyed being with his friends as well as some of the activities.

On the day that I volunteered at camp my friend Debbie Lee swapped babysitting with me.  Here are the kids on the day they spent with her.  As you can see, Christian and Sheri had such a fun time!

The kids also had swimming lessons.  All the kids were strong except Christian who doesn't like water on his face or ears.  Oh well, he will learn. :)  The kids also got to swim with our good friends, the Whitneys after lessons on some days.  We have so much fun with their family!

It was a fun, busy month.  Here are a few more photos to wrap up this post.

Here is Christian with our next door neighbor friend, Austin.
This is me getting ready to weed and work in the garden.  I love my apron from my mother in law!
