April 2019

April was an absolutely beautiful month!  We've relished our yard coming alive and have been busy starting the garden.  Spring is so amazing here!
Here are some pictures of our yard and the garden that Matt and I put in.

You can also see the pool heater system that Matt created which was placed on the top of our shed.

The kids have continued the usual activities such as swim, soccer, school, church, and music.

Chistian's coaches were awesome with the boys, very patient and positive.  They planned a fun pizza party at the end of the season and gave the boys water bottles and trophies.

For Eve's birthday this year I made a special vegetarian lasagna that turned out very tasty and then we went to the musical Mama Mia at her high school.  It was fun to see her friends in the production.
General Conference was the next couple of days.  We always love it!

A few weeks later we had spring break.  As part of our study of the New Testament we were able to learn about the traditions of the day including the Passover.  I decided to have a Passover meal on the 18th (Thursday before Good Friday) to explain the symbolism then and now.  It was a cool experience.

On Friday, April 19th we went to Yosemite for the first time.  Christian loved collecting rocks for his picture book we plan to make.  We had a picnic lunch and enjoyed a few short hikes.  We hope to go back and explore more of the park that we didn't get to.

On April 20th and 21st  we celebrated Easter.  Saturday was more of the spring celebrations with egg dying and a hunt with friends.  Sunday was church and focusing on Christ's Resurrection.

On the 22nd I took the kids on a hike at Knights Ferry.  We also got to see a historic flour mill that later became a power plant.

On April 25th we went to San Francisco.  We were able to charter a sailboat out to sail around Alcatraz.  We saw dolphins and the Bay Bridge.   We also checked out Pier 39.

On the 26th we had friends over for our first pool party.  We had music, and snacks and it was such a fun way to enjoy Spring Break.

Finally, here are a few fun photos from the month.

What a happy, fun, beautiful life!
