Christian turns 2 years old!

My sweet baby boy is 2 years old! I surely adore Christian! Each morning he brings a smile to my face and a feeling of pure joy when I give him a hug. I love to kiss his soft cheeks. Each day he learns to say more words and do new new things. He is still very tall (in the 95 percentile) and his weight is increasing. He is very healthy for which I am grateful! He sings along when I sing Primary songs. His favorites are "Oh what do you do in the Summer Time", "I am a Child of God",and the alphabet song. He has started to count, saying "2, 3, 4, 2, 3", sometimes he will even say "10" if you count that high. At nap time, he never wants to stop reading books. He loves make animal sounds, play doggie with the kids, and almost always has 2 or 3 cars in his hands. He is very good at telling me what he needs: "nack" for snack, "gunk" for drink, "duce" for juice, "cany" for candy and "airplane" any time he hears or sees an airplane flying by. He has also learned to tell his siblings "no" when they are not doing what he wants them to do. He also usually follows "no" by a long lecture of unintelligible works while gesturing exactly how he feels. His vocabulary is getting quite amazing. We love his bright smile, and heart melting laugh. He is starting to act more stubborn at times, but I suppose that is healthy too. :)

Here are some recent pictures.

Here Christian is playing with Camden, our close friends' 3 year old.

Next, some birthday pics.

One final thing I want to record is that Christian loves to climb in bed with Sterling or Sheri at night before I take him to bed. I am sure that he will love to share a room with Sterling in the future. He never wants the fun to end. It is always sad to take him away when he is so snuggly and happy.

Christian is such a joy to us! We are so grateful for sweet little Christian!

Adam and Nicolle's Marriage

My oldest brother, Adam, found the sweetest girl! We have all liked Nicolle since the first time we met her. Adam and Nicolle decided to be married and sealed for time and eternity in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple in South Jordan Utah. Because of the distance and short length of the visit, I decided to fly out without Matt or the kids.

Matt flew into Omaha late Wednesday evening (Sept 10th), and I flew to Utah early Thursday morning (Sept 11th). I enjoyed time to talk and catch up with my parents, siblings, and grandma. We went to lunch, did some small grocery shopping and enjoyed a family dinner that night at Adam and Nicolle's home (which Adam moved into after they were married). It was nice to see their new home and meet some of Nicolle's family.

My sisters Jennifer and Annie, my niece Hannah and her husband Joseph, and I all stayed in a hotel and had a wonderful time talking each night.

Friday, September 12th was the wedding. It was such a beautiful day, and the ceremony was beautiful. The temple had a beautiful spirit of peace and joy. The sealer gave them some wonderful counsel about taking care of each other. I felt such gratitude and happiness that Adam has had this wonderful blessing in his life. I also felt so much happiness being with all my siblings, parents, and other extended family in the temple.

These occasions are the highlight of our earthly life. I was full of joy!

After the wedding we went to the luncheon and the highlight was when Adam sang "That's Amore" at the conclusion. I love to hear his handsome voice! It was so wonderful to see Adam so happy.

After the luncheon we went to see my brother Ivan's new house and piano. That was very fun. Then after a cat nap at the hotel, we went to dinner with my siblings, parents, and grandma.

Saturday we dispersed our various ways. Jennifer, Hannah, Joseph and I had the chance to do some shopping and lunch at the Olive Garden before heading to the airport. It was treasured time to have a break from the everyday norm. Again it was a beautiful day! The only thing more beautiful was coming home to my handsome husband and adorable kids! It is wonderful to be together again! I am so grateful for my family and also for the beginning of Adam's new family!

On the Market

We put our home on the market August 29th, the Friday of Labor Day weekend. There is something about making your home just perfect that makes you realize how much you love it. We have really enjoyed living here! I wanted to capture the various rooms to preserve the memory of it in my mind.

It is bittersweet when the sign goes up.

We had about 3 showings the first week. We went to Lauritzen Gardens for Labor Day with the Bacons. This was the day our buyers looked at our home.

We were under contract the following Thursday. From there we have had inspections, appraisals, etc. We are set to close in early October.

We also put an offer in on a home in Columbus and are set to close Sept 29th. Matt and I have been busy, each of us taking care of the details of one home or the other. We will be grateful when we are together and settled in one place!
