July is a wonderful summer month with lots of sunny weather, and lots of time to play. Here is what we were up to after we returned from our trip to Colorado.
First, we enjoyed being HOME SWEET HOME!
Monday the 10th Eve went to Young Women's camp. She had a wonderful week with activities such as horseback riding, zip lining, ropes courses, and of course lots of girl time.
Tuesday the 11th I took the kids to Chick- Fil- A for customer appreciation day. Then we went to the batting cages, and picked back up with our regular dance and scout activities.
Wednesday we got rained out at the zoo, so we went swimming instead.
Friday Eve came home, our Hoyle friends came to play, and I went to the temple with Matt
After getting back into our regular routine we also had a few more sewing lessons with Kasia and the kids learned how to make skirts (Sterling made one for me), so that they could learn to work with knits.
Some other July notable items include:
Sterling got swimmer's ear. :(
I had another birthday. I slept in. The kids decorated the house in the middle of the night, and made breakfast. Later we went to the park and to IKEA. Matt took me to a nice dinner and a evening walk on the Scioto mile. I felt very loved!
We went to Delaware lake to go boating and we brought our friends, Miriam and Lauryn.
We enjoyed a friday movie night where we watched Into the Woods.
We harvested blackberries and other wonderful things from our garden.
Beau (our next door neighbor's dog) bit Christian on the face. We are sad that he was put to sleep soon thereafter, but understand that he was a risk for others as well. :(
We went roller skating and it was such a great experience, especially for Christian who had a 100% better attitude about trying something that he was not used to. He had great success, and the other kids also had a wonderful time!
We had a yard games day with the Hoyles, Lees, and Whitneys. We also enjoyed roasting s'mores.
Other fun activities
We went swimming a lot. The kids learned to meal plan and make meals. The kids did puzzles together, built forts, and danced in the rain.
We had a list of 100 things we wanted to do this summer. We have gradually checked off lots of things. I will report on our progress in my next post.
Happy Summer!
