Oh, and the Boat

While we were in Colorado, Matt had a little too much free time on his hands! He purchased an inexpensive boat that was a deal. I'd say it is well earned, after all his hard work that he puts in. We celebrated our return from Colorado (sorry out of sequence) with a boat ride on the Mississippi River. Check out our first ride:

We love the scenes on the river. Here are pics of the sunset, Matt's work, and the bridge.

. . .oh, and my crazy, wind blown, humidity hair.

Home Again, Gone Again

Well, we arrived safely home, unpacked, cleaned, packed, and set out again Aug 14th-(5 days home.) I took the kids with me to visit their cousins in Kentucky. Matt's brother and wife went to Ireland and I got to stay with the clan for a week. The kids enjoyed their cousins and my sister in law was so organized! All I had to do was man the ship :) Here are some pics:

As you can see, Eve and her cousin love to dress up alike and have their hair done alike. More on that later.

Part 4 - Sabey Reunion

After visiting with my family and friends in the Denver area, we were privileged to see Matt's family in Steamboat Springs for their reunion. We had a marvelous time with everyone. We enjoyed great conversation, thought provoking discussion, pool time, a tennis tournament, chasing games with Grandpa Smith, great food, yoga, spiritual uplift, Rook, and wonderful family all around! Sterling still remembers the lesson about David and Goliath taught by Matt's cousins on Sunday Morning. Here are some pics:

Here are some more photos:

I wish everyone loved their in laws as much as I do! They are, truly, a wonderful, inspiring, heavenly family! We had a little picnic on our way out with Matthew's family in the mountains. I was on "cloud 9" as we headed home. This vacation was everything I hoped for and much more! Thank you everyone!

Part 3B -(1st week in August) - More Friends

Monday - August 2 We went to see my friend Rachel J. and her daughter. We really enjoyed hearing about their vacation over in our neck of the woods, and catching up/playing! In the evening, we went to see Toy Story 3 with my parents, Jenny W. and her family, and Janet D. and her family. We all had a great time! Tuesday - August 3 We went to the Denver Zoo with Jen R. and her kids. The kids had more fun looking for magical/natural treasures, and playing around than viewing animals. In other words they happy as clams to be together with their friends again. It sure was wonderful to hang out with Jen again, just like old times for just a short time. In the afternoon we got to have a playdate at Jenny W.'s! It was nice to spend some time in great company! Wednesday - August 4th We went to the Spray Park with the Jen R. and her kids again. We enjoyed hearing about her pioneer trek and enjoying the summer sun! Jen always has great insights.

Wednesday evening, we got to pick up Rosanna for a visit and the kids enjoyed playing with her of course! After that we were able to pick up Matthew at the airport. Yay for having a husband and father again!

Thursday - August 5th
Matt had his turn at the dentist for a check up while we went to the park to meet up with Christina and her girls. Then we made a trip over to Deseret Book where the kids spent their birthday money. We spent a little time after that with Annie while Matt visited his previous plant in Commerce City. We sure enjoyed little Mary while here!

The final thing that I did on Thursday was meet my girlfriends for dinner at Thai Basil. 9 girlfriends plus 3 hours = Lots of fun! We had Brenda, Lynda, Jen R, Rachel, Jenny W, Kara, Monette, Janet and Me. What a perfect conclusion to all the fun time with friends I enjoyed. Drat! I forgot to get a picture!
