June 2024

After such a busy May, June was a nice change of pace!

We enjoyed a bit more time to relax, garden, prepare for Sterling's mission, and hang out with friends.

We kicked off the month by celebrating Sterling's birthday with the Keys family and Presley.

He had a friend party later in the month where they played Risk Europe along with other games.

We got a summer pass to the local club's pool and also a pass for Christian to play at Urban Air as often as he wants. It was great exercise for him and allowed me to get through computer work while he played. He also participated in a Basketball camp for a week at the High School.

Christian also got to go with friends to the Zoo,

and he helped the Tollesons move lumber. Both Christian and Sheri were able to work at the Tolleson's restaurant (The Falcon) throughout the summer and they earned some great spending money!

Sheri participated in a two day band leadership conference at WT and learned a lot about conducting.

We took a quick weekend trip to Colorado to visit family and help Sheri finish her driving hours. It was lovely to see everyone!

When we got back into town Sheri passed her driver's test and officially got her license! Yay!

Father's day was special. We are so grateful for Matthew and our fathers!
Look at the cute root beer shot cup that Sheri got for Matt.

Sheri was able to attend FSY at WT during the 3rd week of June. She had a wonderful and uplifting time!

As I have said, we have enjoyed getting outside more and have loved the pergola that Matt attached lights to.  Here Christian and I were enjoying a lovely evening under the sky.

Christian made some new friends in the neighborhood and Sheri was able to babysit 2-3 days each week.

Meanwhile, Sterling worked 6 days each week for around 10+ hours.  It was hot, strenuous, tiring work, but it will give Sterling an appreciation for future work that isn't so tough.  He has learned a lot about perseverance, and work ethic. We are proud of him for working hard to save money for his mission and college!

Here is what Eve has been up to this month.

Humanities Class

She went to the famers market.

She went on a group date.

She went to a chalk exhibition.

And she got to relax by pool at her apartments.

Spring in Provo is lovely!

Near the end of the month Matt was able to fly to Virginia to see his nephew, Caleb (Jeff's 2nd) get married.

The rest of us headed to Island Park ID for the Murray gathering. More on that in July's post.

Happy Summer!

Eve's May 2024

Eve's month of May was filled with 1 spring term class at BYU, work in her Environmental Science lab, and a few adventures.

On the 4th she went to a friend's wedding and was surprised to see David Archuleta attending, too!

On the 6th she took a shuttle to St. George to stay with Ivan for a couple days. He invited her to hike The Subway (near Zion National Park) with him and his friends. It was the most technical hike Eve had done before and required rappelling and swimming. It was a full day of canyoneering (around 10 hours) and Eve was very proud of herself for being brave and having endurance. She slipped and cut her chin at one point, but luckily her helmet protected her from any major injury. It was an amazing experience, thanks Uncle Ivan!!

Eve was also able to hike the Y for the first time with her friend, Erin.

At the end of the month she took a very short girls camping trip with her roommates. She has grown to be especially close with Estee and Rachel, so this was a very fun (and rainy) trip!

It was an exciting and adventurous month for Eve!
