August 2020

August was a beautiful month.  Here is what we have been up to.

Matt has been working on boat repairs.  We have been able to go out and enjoy the nearby reservoir.

We have had time to enjoy the beauties of summer and free time.

Eve was able to get her driver's permit since the DMV is now open.  Now she just needs lots of practice hours.

The 2020-2021 school year started.  All the kids have been distance learning.  They have had to get used to how to work with the teachers online and work together within our space.  Some silver linings are that they don't have to wake up as early and can stay in the comfort of their own home.

We were able to take a Saturday drive up to explore the camping in the nearby mountain areas.  The kids built a little shelter to play in.

During the rest of the month Matt and I started regularly working on some yard and home decorating projects.  It was nice to have extra time together.  Here are some palm trees that Matt picked out for our back yard.

During the kids spare time they often choreograph dances, walk on their hands, or do other tricks around the house.

Here is Christian during a school break.

One final highlight for the month of August is that Matt trapped a ferral cat and her kitten at his work.  We had the momma spayed and then released her, but decided to adopt the little black kitten.  It took us quite a long time to agree on a name.  Finally we went with Matt's choice, "Pearl".  The kids adore her and take good care of her.  She is a bit scared still, but is getting used to us.

Well, that about sums up our month.  We feel grateful and happy even with the pandemic and the restrictions that come with it.
