April was filled with fun and wonderful things!
Near the beginning of the month we decided to celebrate Eve's birthday with a few close friends and our family. We went to the Monterey area for some hiking and beach time. Alison and Diego have been great friends to Eve.
Here is Eve on her actual day.
We also celebrated later in the month with church/dance friends, having a traditional birthday party. Though it was delayed due to a possible Covid exposure we were happy that we could celebrate in this fun way.
These are some of the key chains the girls made.
Early in April we also enjoyed Easter celebrations. We had the Weatherbees join us for egg dying and an egg hunt.
Easter morning I made orange rolls and fruit salad.
The weather was so nice that we watched General Conference outside for one of the sessions.
We had the opportunity over spring break to go to the Fresno Zoo. The kids loved Sting Ray Bay (rays and sharks), feeding the giraffes, and the petting zoo area.
Also on Spring break we were able to go to the beach with the Weatherbees. It was perfect weather! The Weatherbees are great friends.
Sheri also got to go to the beach with Charlotte a few days later. She is really turning into a beach girl!
On April 12th Eve got her driver's license. Yay!
Around this time, church and school events started to open up to more in person activities. We had our first RS week day activity, had a pickleball tournament for a youth activity, held a mental health fireside for the youth, and had YW camp kickoff. It is nice that things are starting to feel more normal!
Here are some photos from the last football game. This was the only game Sterling played in. I am sad that Sterling was robbed of the full band experience due to the pandemic. With missing the marching band review trips and most of the football season, along with frustrating classes over Zoom he has decided not to continue with band. Oh well, he plans to focus on other interests.
April brought a lot of excitement and hope as things returned to a more normal way of life. It was also beautiful all around!
