In August we did our best to get in as much play as possible before school started. For National Night Out we had our first block party. We got to know more neighbors and got a visit from the police department, the fire department, and McGruff (the crime dog).
We also went boating and brought along some friends, Grant, Berry, and the Cherry twins.
Thanks to Matt for making the fun possible.
Unfortunately we had some boat problems and had to be towed in at the end but we all enjoyed the day anyway. This officer was very understanding and nice.
School started on August 11th. Eve is a SENIOR! I can hardly believe it!
This year Eve was a Pitman Pride ambassador, meaning she was able to help the new students with orientation and helping to teach and explain about the school.
Eve and her best friend Allison before school.
Sterling is a sophomore. Again, hard to believe. I think having a year of the pandemic made it seem like a time warp.
Sheri is in 8th grade, her last year before high school.
Christian is in 3rd grade.
The elementary kids got the red carpet rolled out for them. :)
So we got back into the school routine along with our other regular activities.
Some other fun highlights include:
Church dances -Sterling hung out with the Cherry twins and Berry before one in August. He has a lot of fun with friends.
A Youth Bake off with random ingredients
Other reviews hosted in nearby cities
Eve also continued to help run SAVE club and will be working with faculty to create a butterfly garden to help encourage native pollinators. Here is a picture of her social media post.
And finally,
Sheri and Christian started recreational soccer. Sterling began assistant coaching at gymnastics, and the girls had Nutcracker auditions. So, our life in August picked up in paced, but we love the energy of this time of year.
