After the whirlwind that was May, with the move to San Antonio, Sheri's graduation, and wrapping up our Amarillo chapter we were grateful for a calmer month of transition in June.
Here is what we were up to:
Our friend, Timber Liljenquist and her family were traveling through and stayed with us. It was so nice to catch up and see her sweet family!
Christian attended a soccer camp and a basketball day camp at the local high school, and stake youth conference in our first 2 weeks here. He was able to meet lots of new people. On his final day of Youth Conference the youth helped build beds for kids through the organization, Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Here is a photo of Christian helping to assemble the beds.
The following week he went to High Adventure with the Young Men's Organization in our ward. They had a great time! I am so grateful for how welcoming the youth and leaders have been! Christian jumped right in and engaged well with the activities and friends.
While he was gone, Sheri went to a Joshua Sloane Concert with Presley and I worked on meeting with contractors for bids on our upcoming renovation project. I also got myself established with a primary care physician, a dermatologist, and an orthopedist to check out my knee. Overall, I have a clean bill of health!
During the 3rd week of June Sheri and Christian went to FSY back in Amarillo. It was a great experience for both of them.
In the month of June I also unpacked boxes, organized the house, helped the cats establish our new home, found a few scorpions, joined a gym with 2 guest passes for the kids, celebrated Christian's perfect scores on his STARR tests (very rare) and bought a new (pre-owned) vehicle. (Our van is not as reliable for long summer road trips any more.) I have also been joining ward activity groups to get to know people here.
Matt continues to travel for work but took a weekend to drive Big Blue out to Kentucky for his brother, Mike, to pass on the legacy van. We've had some fun adventures in it, but we no longer have a place to store it. Matt also decided to take Eve to Maine for a college graduation trip. They saw some beautiful scenery, cool animals (including whales) and birds (including puffins) and enjoyed the fresh sea food. Now Matt has been to all 50 states! It was also a great way for them to celebrate Father's Day!

Some other highlights for Eve in June include spending time with friends, continuing in her Cafe Rio position, seeing beautiful mountains, and cutting her hair.

Sterling had a great month in Brazil. We celebrated his birthday on the June 2nd over the phone.
The missionaries also celebrated at his Zone Conference.
He was able to give a final testimony since he will be leaving before the next Zone Conference.
Sterling has found a lot of joy serving in this last area. The members have come to trust and support the missionaries there.
He loves his companion.
He enjoys p-days where the missionaries get together and occasionally play soccer.
They have even been allowed to watch parts of the World Cup if Brazil is playing and they are watching with "friends."
And most specially, at the end of the month Shayane was baptised.
Sterling has less than a month until he finishes his mission. We are cheering him on and can't wait for his return!
We are incredibly blessed to have had so many great experiences this month! God has truly blessed us in our transition to San Antonio and wherever we go!
