The Owens came to visit since we missed them around General Conference time. They also brought Josh Eddington along. They arrived June 2nd, Sterling's birthday. We started a Risk game with the group knowing that it would continue throughout the weekend. We also went to the Zoo. We enjoyed seeing the Dinosaur Island exhibit. Unfortunately Sterling felt sick with the flu and was achy all day. He was a trooper throughout the day.
In the evening we had a great time playing cards while the kids got to play video games. I made dinner and dessert for Sterling, but he wasn't up to eating much. Still, he was happy most the day. Love this boy!
Saturday June 3rd I made pancakes with frozen berries. Matt and I felt some urgency to finish some yard projects because we have had a hard time getting to them. The Owens graciously helped us with them. (I hope they come back to visit us again.) :) We worked on getting our 2 new deep square foot gardens filled and on painting our hen house. Then we finished with volleyball and a water balloon fight, boys versus girls.
In the afternoon we made pizza wheels, with veggies and watermelon.
Everyone continued playing games including Risk and video games . . . a real treat for my kids. We had a cookout in the evening and root beer floats.
Sunday we had overnight french toast and banana bread. Sheri got Sterling's sickness and was ill for the next couple of days. We went to church together and then the Owens left after Sacrament meeting.
In the evening I made Bruschetta, strawberry spinach salad, and fruit salad and we enjoyed dinner with the Kleins. We had a fun weekend!
The next week was full of dance dress rehearsals and recitals. We also had some fun day activities. Tuesday we went to Recreations Outlet,
. . .and in the evening Sterling had a cub scout pack meeting where he earned his Arrow of Light.
Wednesday we had a cooking lesson, Thursday we went to Adventure Park, and Friday the kids had play dates (except Eve.)
It took a few days for Sterling and then Sheri to feel better and then Eve got it on Friday. I think they all got what Christian had the week before. Despite the kids being under the weather they all did a great job in the recitals and were so much fun to watch. Saturday they were in 3 shows! The show was Arabian nights.
Here are a few photos that were captured of Sheri at the recital.
Here Eve is dressed as a jewel in the cave of wonders.
Sterling and Sheri were fire walkers in this hip hop piece.
Sheri was "Million Miles Away" - part of the magic carpet ride.
Sterling and Sheri were peacocks in the parade for their acrobatics piece.
Sterling's chest stand.
They are all my jewels, (a phrase I will borrow from my mother.) :) I loved watching them and was very proud of their hard work!
We love recital time!
