September was great for getting back into a routine here in San Antonio!
Christian settled into school and started training with the cross country team. They had a few meets throughout September. He is in the top ten fastest runners at his school so he was able to compete at all the meets. Though XC is not his favorite sport, it keeps him in shape for the upcoming sports seasons and he has made some good friends.
Christian continues to enjoy the youth at church. He will meet them for soccer in the evenings, or games on the weekends and enjoys their weekly youth activities. He is expanding his circles both at church and at school. He has made some friends in the neighborhood as well. :)
Here Christian went to 6 Flags with the Fackrells.
Christian turned 14 this month! We celebrated by getting some yummy food, decorating his room, enjoying key lime pie, and buying some fun Legos. He is growing very fast and we are often shopping for new shoes or clothes. :)
I have been using my time preparing for upcoming home renovations, decluttering and unpacking, updating my blog, and connecting with the women in my ward. They have had craft days, a book club, a workout group, a game night group, a ministering group and much more. There are lots of great women and I am enjoying getting to know them more with each interaction.
This is one craft that I have made with the women (a super Saturday activity).
I enjoyed working on it while watching the BYU football games.
Speaking of BYU football...
We have been enjoying the season. We have watched games with friends or at home. Matt was able to attend the CSU vs BYU game in Ft Collins with my dad, his mom, his brother and other extended family. It is a lot of fun and we have won all of the games so far this season.
He also ran into these crazy fans and got a fun pic with them.
Over in Utah Sterling and Sheri started their freshman year classes and are settling in with their roommates as well as navigating life at BYU.
They are enjoying football games and fun times on the weekends. Eve also plans fun activities, dinners and movie nights with them and with cousins on weekends.
A cougar tail, a fun game day experience.

Marianne's birthday
Another exciting development is that Sterling and Sheri auditioned for the BYU International Folk Team. With zero experience they were thrilled to both make the beginning team. They have had a lot of fun in their beginning folk dance class and team. They attend rec nights with all the other teams and classes and have a great time! I tried to capture a few screen shots from a shared reel on IG when I spotted Sterling and Sabey.
I am thrilled for them and will be traveling out to see their Christmas Around the World show in December. Sheri is also enjoying her clogging class and Sterling his vocal class.
They both also have chemistry, religion and a few other classes, though none of those are together.
Eve continues her two jobs and was given a calling as Relief Society Secretary in her ward. She enjoys bringing order to the organization and is happy to be involved more in her ward.
Here are some pictures from her hitches this month..
First hitch -Torrey and Green River - Some of the notable aspects were the red rocks, sand dunes and bad lands. She also enjoys discovering little surprises. Can you spot her in this next photo?
Her second hitch was in the Capitol Reef area. There were many washed out roads. As you can see the landscapes vary quite a bit from area to area that they survey.
As mentioned before, between hitches Eve gets together with Sheri, Sterling and her cousins as often as possible. They have been watching one of the Harry Potter movie series each weekend.
She brought this fun treat.
Eve also took Sterling, Sheri and Sabey to the mountains to enjoy the fall colors. They took advantage of the beauty and got some fun pictures.
I am glad they are making fun memories.
We are all pretty excited to welcome autumn!
We feel very blessed to have special times together, so many beautiful things around us, and the peace that the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings. We have much to be grateful for!
