Eve has been wanting to have a lemonade stand for a long time. Finally we did it!
She got a few customers but it was the middle of the day and a real roaster! She waited quite a while and then we packed up to try again another day.

Owens Comin' Through
We are happy that we are in the middle of the U.S. so that we can accommodate all our friends passing through as they go on road trips. The Owens got to spend a day or two with us on their way to and from Utah. We took them out to a nearby lake for some water fun.
We enjoyed dinner by lantern light and then got out of the lake area just before gates closed for the night. The Owens visit was short but sweet! :)

June 2012
Here is a quick update on our recent happenings.
The kids have been taking swimming lessons each morning, Monday through Friday.

I have been very happy with how lessons have gone. Eve has really developed her front and back crawl strokes, her front and back floats, and is swimming in the deep water quite well. She is being introduced to the dolphin and diving. Both Sterling and Sheri seem to really enjoy their lessons and are gradually progressing as well. Sheri has been excited to put her head completely under and blow bubbles. It has been great exercise and lots of fun for everyone!
Eve had her first piano recital. I think her teacher is doing a great job and I am very happy with how much Eve has learned! She played very well!

I continue to work on my hair cutting skills.

My belly continues to grow. This picture minimizes my size but who can complain about that? :)

We were happy to find out that we are expecting another little boy!
Here are some other fun moments that I have captured so far this summer:
Sterling reading to Sheri

Sterling happily riding his scooter. This was the picture of summertime for me. I happened upon it as I returned from my errands. Actually, all the kids have enjoyed the scooter. Sterling is happy to share as he also develops his bike riding skills.

All the kids were just returning from water play with neighborhood friends.

Learning a new song for Family Home Evening. "Count Your Blessings"

Making a craft at the library. We have been reading each day for the library reading programs. The kids have enjoyed the prizes, the storytime/activities, and of course, the reading. Sheri really likes Berenstain Bears. Sterling really likes Star Wars and just about everything else. Eve likes, Magic Tree House, Junie B. Jones, and Fairy Books. We recently finished Harry Potter #2 (The Chamber of Secrets). The kids were so excited and we were able to borrow the movie from the library. It was a special treat!

More Zoo time. The kids are hanging around like little monkeys.

Summertime has been busy and fun!

June 1st and 2nd, 2012
Eve had her dance recital June 1st. She enjoyed classes and being with her friend Ashley. Although we both agree that she could be challenged more, she absolutely loves to perform on stage!

Eve is 3rd from the left.

She enjoyed having red glittery tap shoes.

She thought it was so cool how this costume magically transformed in the middle of the dance.

On the same night as her dress rehearsal, Sterling had his first T-ball game (except the one on opening day). Practices were all throughout May. Since I couldn't be in 2 places at once, he was able to go with the assistant coach, also a very good friend of ours and his son (Luke -Sterling's buddy and Ashley's brother from above:)) Here are some pictures from his 2nd game, also on his birthday.

I love to see him run with his helmet that is so big on him.

Sterling's number is #3.
After the game we let him open some presents.
Thank you Grandpa and Grandma Smith for this game and some handsome clothes!

He enjoys Harry Potter!

Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma Murray! This is what Sterling chose to buy with his gift money from you. He has had a great time assembling and playing with these legos.

He also got a new scooter.
In the evening we took him to Red Lobster since he has been asking for over 6 months. The kids love to pet the live lobsters. Sterling really enjoys crab legs, and lobster. The kids played with a lobster claw for quite a long time. It was fun to treat him on his birthday.

After dinner we invited friends over for cake and ice cream again.
I made him a Harry Potter Cake.

My grown up 6 year old boy.

And as always, we finished the evening with the traditional "spanking machine."

Happy Birthday to my sweet Sterling!

May 2012
Here are a few May highlights.
The daddy/daughter dance hosted by the local elementary school. Eve had a blast dancing with her dad! (Please note the cute pillow covers I made. They were not very difficult but took a while to finish for me.)

The new fruit trees, vegetables, and flowers (potted) we planted

Eve continues to play the piano. (She began lessons in April)

The last day of school (field day). My little kindergartener and 2nd grader are soon to be in 1st and 3rd grade!
Sheri and I enjoyed watching all the events and even helped a bit on the tug o war.

Just one more year at home for my little Sheri! (Sniff)
Sterling learned to ride a bike with out training wheels. Watching children succeed on a bike is a moment of pure exhilaration for a parent. Ok, there is a bit of nervousness too. Thanks to Matthew for taking the reigns on this one! It can be very awkward to run next to a bike when you are pregnant. I did do a bit of prodding and gave encouragement of course. Ster has a had a few falls and scraped up knees to go along with them. Overall, he is getting more and more confident and independant each time we practice.
Here we are on one of our first family bike rides.

Hanging out at the zoo with our friends. We have been able to go to the zoo here 3 or 4 times. It is always a great experience and even more fun with friends.

And sometimes, the zoo creeps into our home life. Sheri named this little guy "Climber."

Sheri turned 4 years old!
We opened a few presents on her birthday and then we had a few friends over for cake and ice cream the evening after.

We all enjoyed playing games while the little ones jumped on the bouncy house outside and ran around.

I sure love my sweet Sheri!

Memorial day.
On Memorial day Matthew got his boat out and got it running for the season. We went to a lake about 25 minutes from our house. We enjoyed the sand, the sunshine, and the time together. I even learned to drive the boat, and thankfully, I didn't hurt or kill anyone in the process. :)

We have a very rich life, full of love and happy memories! I want to record one final memory, that of mother's day. For mother's day Matthew put in new cupboards for our laundry room (just what I wanted!) He also helped supervise and cook when the kids started breakfast in bed for me. Eve was so cute! She made me a fruit salad with bananas, kiwi, and graham crackers. Matthew made me scrumptious french toast and an omlet. Also, Eve gave me service coupons including one for a foot massage, breakfast in bed, and extra hugs and kisses. My family definately made me feel like queen for the day! May was wonderful!
